DTNVS WANGLE (Wide Angle)
The worldwide success of the DTNVS platform amongst professional users has kept ACTinBlack seeking to push the capabilities of the system further. Sometime in 2023, they dreamed up the Wide Angle DTNVS – a panning and articulating version of the DTNVS-MG platform.
This system has been fielded in Europe for over a year, and has now reportedly been adopted by multiple professional and military organizations.
Using a unique mechanical mechanism, the WANGLE allows the user to selectively angle the optic pods of the system in about 1 second to go from ‘standard’ 40 degree field of view to ‘wide’ 55 degree FOV, on demand. This system still retains all the best parts of the DTNVS including the auto shutoff mechanism to control power to your tubes based on the articulation position, and also manual gain adjustment. Built with RPO 4.0 lenses, the WANGLE is the ultimate night vision binocular.
Field of view is the single largest upgrade you can achieve with a night vision device. More field of view by using special lenses requires trade-offs in optical characteristics of the system, but more field of view by panning like the WANGLE allows the best of all worlds.
